My Music - The Gab - Trilok

Posted by Robbie | Posted in Music | Posted on 31-10-2008

Time for another sample of a track from The Gab. This one’s called Trilok.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

This is the solo part of the album for yours truly…Though it’s really a trilogy recorded live in one take…more than 14 minutes in total!

The full listing is, Slaughterhouse 12 to 5 / Trilok/ Kalkin’s Bayonet…  but obviously time is of an essence and I just want to give you a flavour of the piece.

Actually the track starts with a brutally fast drum pattern, a riff and melody, then the link into the drum solo, (that’s where we are here), with the whole trilogy finishing with a very fast samba groove.

I named my part of the trilogy after Trilok Gurtu, who is one of my favourite drummers/ percussionists. Just a beautiful musician.
Enjoy!
