My Music - The Gab - Half Moon Bay

Posted by Robbie | Posted in Music | Posted on 29-10-2008

Hi There!

A special treat today: we’ve been through the archives and found some tracks from a project I worked on a few years ago - a band called The Gab.

Here’s a sample of the track called Half Moon bay. The full track runs for 7 minutes.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Named after the area Ralph was living in Sydney, this track was a great way of opening the album. The intent was clear.

On the full track, the piece starts with a circular breathing improvisation by Ralph. We listen from where I come in. Then Malcolm. Just a bunch of fills and a groove to get us going…then the melody.

In the full track it turns into a blues piece which really moves…I mean REALLY moves!

A fine way to introduce the three of us, I think anyway.

Enjoy!

Robbie xx
